Atalaya Castle Wedding Photos
Last Fall, the editor of one of our very favorite wedding magazines, A Lowcountry Wedding Magazine, reached out to us and asked if we would be interested in shooting the bridal editorial for their spring issue at Atalaya Castle in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Of course, we said yes!
So, in the middle of December, we drove from the rainy, chilly mountains of East Tennessee to the breezy, sunny and warm coast of South Carolina to work with some of the most amazing wedding professionals. We got a little bit of a sunburn that day, our toes were in the sand, and our jaws dropped when we saw each gown…including an ombre purple veil!
From December to April, we held back from posting all the gorgeous images from this shoot. It was hard y’all….seriously, it was hard. The issue hit newsstands, and we are so honored to have our images gracing 17 full pages of the Spring/Summer issue.
All of the wedding gowns are all to die for, and you can find them at bridal shops throughout the Lowcountry – Lovely Bride Charleston, Lovely Bride, Emily Kotarski Bridal Studio, Kate McDonald Bridal, Betty Bridal Atelier Charleston, Gown Boutique of Charleston, Verità. A Bridal Boutique, Modern Trousseau Charleston, and Mary Elizabeth’s Bridal.

Atalaya Castle Weddings
Atalaya Castle is part of Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This Spanish style castle was built in the 1930s and is nestled within steps of Huntington Beach. It was originally built as a home for the Huntington family and is now a national landmark.
With exposed brick throughout the castle and two courtyards lined with tall palms, Atalaya Castle has 30 rooms surrounding a water tower in the middle of the property. ‘Atalaya’ means ‘Watchtower’ in Spanish.
