Knoxville Courthouse Wedding
More and more, we are seeing that couples are choosing to forego a large, full-blown wedding for a small intimate affair. This is exactly what Devon and Jon chose to do. They got married at the Knox County Courthouse on a Wednesday afternoon and then had dinner on Market Square. Their immediate family was at their wedding, and it was just as emotional and intimate (if not more) than a large wedding.
Devon and Jon met at their workplace. It’s such a funny story, because Devon noticed that Jon would frequently visit her cubicle work area to visit her colleague more and more over time. He would make conversation, and they would chat, and it grew from there. One conversation led to another, and then to a date, and the rest is history.
The afternoon of their wedding, it began pouring rain while we were inside the courthouse. As we walked outside, it was still raining, but it was slowly slacking off. So, we took photos on the front porch of the courthouse with the black and white tile and old brick arches. The Knox County Courthouse is a lovely building with lots of architectural character, and it is covered from the rain, so it was perfect!
Devon and Jon brought cute clear umbrellas with them and a lovely bouquet by Jesse Lockett Childs of Stolen Flowers Farm. We went to the Gay Street Bridge, through Market Square, and then to The Oliver Hotel. They met their families for dinner at The Oliver Royale that evening and celebrated. They left for their honeymoon the next day. It couldn’t have been more simple, lovely, or stress free. Cheers to Devon and Jon!
