Spence Cabin Wedding in Gatlinburg
Today, we’re sharing one of the sweetest spring weddings in one of our favorite places – Spence Cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Kaitlyn and Patrick’s wedding was in April, and everything was blooming and green for their wedding day backdrop.
Couples choose to get married in special locations throughout the national park including Elkmont and Cades Cove for various reasons. To some, the park is a place they have been visiting for years and some of their fondest memories as a child took place in the Smokies. For others, their family legacy began with their grandparents or great grandparents who lived in the national park in areas such as Tremont, Greenbrier, Elkmont, or Cades Cove. One we we photographed a few years ago, the bride’s grandfather was a park ranger in the Smokies for years and so it was perfectly fitting that they got married and hosted all of their guests at the Appalachian Clubhouse.
When Kaitlyn first reached out to us, she said “My Granny grew up in Tremont before it was the GSMNP, and it’s a second home to me.” To her and her family, Spence Cabin was the perfect place to get married because of her family’s history.
