Cades Cove Wedding at the Methodist Church

One of our favorite seasons in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is fall. Especially in Cades Cove because the colors of all the leaves in the mountains are amazing. If you’ve ever been to Cades Cove during the peak of the fall colors, you also know how busy it is, buzzing with tourists and vehicles slowly creeping around the loop with their sunroofs open and their children hanging their heads out the windows.

Cades Cove is a very special and sentimental place for so many people. Some of their favorite memories took place in the cove, and so they often return to relive those memories with hopes of catching a glimpse of a black bear walking through the forest or a deer grazing in the field.

This is exactly why Jena and Billy decided to get married at the historic Methodist Church. Jena said, “We want this to be beautiful and small and in a place with tremendous sentimental value for us both. The Smokies are out home away from home.”

So, we met this sweet couple on a Sunday in November. The sky was blue with white clouds silently drifting across the sky. And there was a stead wind, which was perfect for her cathedral length veil.

Jena’s family is full of singers. Amazing singers. Their ceremony included songs by her sister and their families, and the sweet sounds echoed on the white walls of the historic church that was established in the 1800s.

After their wedding ceremony, we walked into the field behind the church that had the most gorgeous fall colors! Then, we went to Hyatt Lane for the sweeping panoramic views of the Smoky Mountains.
