Cades Cove Wildlife Overlook Wedding

Cades Cove Wildlife Overlook Wedding

Sometimes we find new photo locations in the same areas we’ve been hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for years. We go just a little further on a trail, or the river is low and creates a new water crossing, or a tree falls and creates a log we can walk across. For Holly & Jeff’s wedding in Cades Cove, all of these things happened, and we found ourselves right in the middle of a beautiful new area to explore with them!

When Holly first reached out to us about their Cades Cove wedding, she said, “He is a police officer and I am a nurse, so after being surrounded by all kinds of people and situations all day we both are very private and enjoy more intimate settings within our relationship. We want our wedding to be very private with only a very few family members present.”
And that’s exactly what they did. Their Destination mountain wedding was at the Cades Cove Wildlife Overlook with their closest family members and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as their backdrop. The sun was shining bright as they said their vows, and light rays shone through the forest as we explored the cove.

Cades Cove Wildlife Overlook

The Cades Cove Wildlife Overlook is the most popular outdoor ceremony location in Cades Cove with sweeping scenic views across the cove with the smoky mountains rising tall as your backdrop. This location is not clearly marked, but it is located 0.5 miles past the Missionary Baptist Church on the left. There is a narrow trail you can walk down for a 180-degree panoramic view of the mountains in the background for your ceremony. It’s also away from the parking lot, so it reduces the traffic noise and number of onlookers.
