Brenna and Marty’s wedding was July 19, 2014, and Joe and I traveled to Galena for their summer wedding. This sweet couple lives in Knoxville, and their guests and families traveled to Galena for a weekend full of celebrations!
Their wedding ceremony was at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa, which is a 30 minute drive from Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. St. Columbkille was built in the early 1900s and it is such a gorgeous church overflowing with ornate details and beautiful light from all the stained glass windows.
After their wedding ceremony in Dubuque, the wedding reception at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa rocked until the wee hours of the night! Brenna and Marty’s families and guests did not miss a beat, and they didn’t slow down to take a breath until the end of the night when the music stopped!
Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is situated on the side of the mountain overlooking Lake Galena. In the evenings, hot air balloons are often seen drifting over the lake and sometimes dipping into the water! The night of Brenna and Marty’s wedding, a colorful balloon drifted across the lake and guests watched it from the back porch of the ballroom.
