Gatlinburg Wedding at Greenbrier
Today, we’re taking you to one of our favorite places in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for weddings – Greenbrier. Courtney and Joel got married at a rental cabin overlooking the Smoky Mountains, and then we went to Greenbrier for photos between their ceremony and reception.
Smoky Mountain weddings are some of our favorites, and theirs was no exception. Courtney and Joel and 30 of their closest family members and friends traveled from Michigan to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for their late October wedding. Full of fall colors and a cool crisp breeze, their ceremony on the top floor of their cabin was warm and sentimental.
Joel wrote their entire wedding ceremony, and Steve from Sensational Ceremonies was their officiant. It was such a special and memorable ceremony along with their two children as flower girl and ring bearer. When Courtney first reached out to us, she said, “We want our wedding to be intimate and focused on our love for each other.”
After the ceremony, we traveled to Greenbrier for bride and groom photos by the river. The fall colors were later than usual in the Smokies this year, so there were a few spots of orange and yellow peppered throughout the forest.
When we arrived back at Smokin’ View Lodge for their reception, dinner was ready by Fruitful Vintage and everyone ate together by candlelight. Courtney and Joel had their first dance as the sun set over the mountains, and they celebrated with their families for the rest of the evening!

Greenbrier Weddings in the Smokies
The Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is on northern side of the park, and it is near Pittman Center just outside of Gatlinburg on the banks of the Little Pigeon River. It is a short drive from Sevierville, and it’s generally not very crowded with less traffic. There are three wedding locations in Greebrier: #1, #2, and the picnic pavilion. The approved wedding ceremony locations are on the banks of the Little Pigeon River, and there is an abundance of beautiful backdrops for wedding photos including the river, forest, wooden bridges, and large rocks in the river.
