Greenbrier Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Sarah and Josh got married on a Monday afternoon in the Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And when we say “in the park” we mean they were literally in the Little Pigeon River.

You see, when Sarah and Josh got married, East Tennessee was in a drought and hadn’t had rain for weeks. The rivers were the lowest we’d ever seen them, and most of the rocks in the riverbeds were exposed. Sarah and Josh stepped across the exposed rocks and went all the way out to edge where there would normally water flowing around them.
Every time we visit the park, Mother Nature has changed something slightly, like a tree has fallen across one of our favorite trails, or a flood has taken away some of our favorite trees, or a drought has uncovered rock beds where we normally see the river flowing. Our backdrops are constantly changing as Mother Nature changes.
As approved photographers in the National Park, the Park Service entrusts us to be respectful of the land and the wildlife, to be park stewards, and to embody the mission of the park service. A significant portion of our work is done in the national park, and we give back 3% of our income earned in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the GSMNP to keep our beloved Smokies protected. These mountains are sacred, and we want to help protect them!

Greenbrier Weddings in the Smokies

The Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is on northern side of the park, and it is near Pittman Center just outside of Gatlinburg on the banks of the Little Pigeon River. It is generally not very crowded with less traffic. There are three wedding locations in Greebrier: #1, #2, and the picnic pavilion. The approved wedding ceremony locations are on the banks of the Little Pigeon River, and there is an abundance of beautiful backdrops for wedding photos including the river, forest, wooden bridges, and large rocks in the river.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Wedding Photographer

We are authorized Great Smoky Mountains National Park wedding photographers, and the park is a beautiful destination for mountain weddings, elopements, and photo sessions. If you live in Knoxville, Maryville, East Tennessee, or you are traveling to Gatlinburg, Sevierville, or Pigeon Forge from out of state, then you know how gorgeous the national park is for photos. We have the permit required to photograph weddings in the park, and we visit the park dozens of times each year to photograph weddings.
