Greenbrier Wedding – Great Smoky Mountains National Park
This wedding in the Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the closest thing we have photographed to a forest fairytale wedding. Hannah and Trent traveled from Alabama to Tennessee for a mountain elopement, and their love story is one for the history books.
Hannah and Trent met through church, and since the moment they met, they knew they were meant to be together forever. Trent was in the worship band at their church, and he is a guitarist in the Army. They both have adventurous blood, and they love traveling together. Their wedding vows books were travel themed, and weeks after their wedding, they traveled halfway around the world to Japan for his job.
The morning of their wedding, there was a storm in Greenbrier with torrential downpours. By the time we met for their ceremony that evening, the river water was gushing and had risen pretty high. So, we selected a location for their ceremony overlooking the river, with water flowing around them in the background in the shape of a horseshoe.
After their ceremony, we explored Greenbrier #1 and Greenbrier #2 and found some of the most gorgeous forest and riverside locations. Then, they found an intimate spot beside the river to sit on a blanket together as the water rippled by. It was such a quiet and serene location, it was the perfect way to end such a beautiful and romantic wedding day.

Greenbrier Weddings in the Smokies
The Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is on northern side of the park, and it is near Pittman Center just outside of Gatlinburg on the banks of the Little Pigeon River. It is generally not very crowded with less traffic. There are three wedding locations in Greebrier: #1, #2, and the picnic pavilion. The approved wedding ceremony locations are on the banks of the Little Pigeon River, and there is an abundance of beautiful backdrops for wedding photos including the river, forest, wooden bridges, and large rocks in the river.
