Ijams Quarries Engagement Photos
One of our favorite locations in Knoxville for engagement photos is Ijams Quarries, also known as Meads Quarry. We met Grace and Will in mid-October for their engagement photos, and it was a beautiful evening by the quarry’s lake.
Usually in Mid-October in Knoxville, the trees are still green and lush. But this year there were spots of yellow trees with a few leaves lightly drifting to the ground. Grace and Will brought their sweet pup Gizmo the pug. Gizmo is the cutest guy, and they both love him so much!
This sweet duo is getting married next May at the Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm in Knoxville, and we are thrilled to be a part of their spring wedding!

Meads Quarry originally opened in 1881 in downtown Knoxville and provided pink marble that was used in local and national monuments. Although it’s no longer a working quarry, it is now part of Ijams Nature Center, and the pink marble cliffs are a beautiful backdrop for photos along the ice-blue lake and reflections in the water. We frequently photograph engagement sessions at Ijams Quarries and love its lush greenery and unique backdrops.
