Knoxville Courthouse Elopement

When Kayla and Mason contacted us in December about eloping at the Old Knox County Courthouse in June, there were uncertain moments even for their small elopement because of the pandemic. Covid has affected so many weddings around the world, and so many couples have had to reschedule their wedding for future dates.

• Would the courthouse be open?
• Would they be the only two people allowed inside the courthouse for their ceremony?
• Would the county allow at least one of us to capture their ceremony, or no photographers at all?

Fortunately, Kayla and Mason’s wedding went exactly as planned, and we were able to help them make it happen to have their ceremony outside with all their family members present. Her dad was able to walk her down the aisle and give her away. Their mothers cried as they watched their children say their vows. And everyone cheered when they kissed and were announced husband and wife.

Despite everything that has been “un-normal” for months during the pandemic….in these moments, the world is normal again. Love continues, weddings continue, and couples’ lives together continue. It may look different than what you had originally envisioned, or it may be more intimate with fewer guests, or it may be at a different location or state altogether, but you are still married at the end of the day. Professing your love and commitment on this one day will last a lifetime of days into your future together.
