Fall Wedding at Maple Grove Estate
This fall wedding at Maple Grove Estate is going to leave you dreaming of November nuptials, the perfect love story, and jaw-dropping autumnal hues. Melanie and Carl’s wedding was on Nov. 2, and we couldn’t have imagined a more lovely, sentimental, or memorable day.
Nestled in the forest of west Knoxville, Maple Grove Estate is one of our favorite Knoxville wedding venues. The historic home is more than 220 years old, and every corner of the estate is full of history, character and class.
When Melanie first reached out to us, she said, “We discussed the possibility of doing a long engagement, but we’re ready. If we had a reason to wait, we would. So here we are! I’d like to go for a timeless quality to the style of the wedding. Classic, elegant, and stylish without being over-the-top.”
Melanie also used to live in Charleston, and Maple Grove Estate has that quintessential lowcountry vibe she loves. I mean, what’s not to love about it’s avenue of ancient trees greeting you when you arrive, porches that beg you to sit and listen to the wind and the birds chirping, and meandering red brick paths leading you into gardens that look like they’re straight out of a fairytale.
Without hesitation, this couple nailed it. And on their wedding day, the sun was happily shining bright, and the yellow leaves on the trees gleamed as if they had been waiting all year for that special day to shine just for them.

Knoxville Weddings at Maple Grove Estate
Maple Grove Estate has a strong history in Knoxville, Tennessee. Built in 1799, the 10,000 square-foot historic home sits on 15 acres on Westland Avenue in west Knoxville. It was a wedding venue in the 1990s and early 2000s, and we photographed weddings there before it closed. Since then, the Shankles family purchased the estate, and they have been very hard at work renovating and updating the property.
Today, with the new owners, the estate is open again and it’s being renovated, rejuvenated, improved, and updated! It is now open for weddings and events, and we couldn’t be more excited for this picturesque and southern gem for Knoxville brides and grooms.
