Max Patch Engagement Pictures
We love the mountains, and these Max Patch engagement photos in the Pisgah National Forest overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains did not disappoint! We met Bekah and Daniel for their romantic summer engagement photos high atop the Tennessee-North Carolina border, and it was their first time visiting Max Patch.
If you’ve ever been to Max Patch before, then you know it’s quite an effort to get to the top. After you take the Harmon’s Den exit, you drive for miles on a narrow, winding gravel road. Once you make it to the small parking lot, there is another 30+ minute hike to the top.
None of that phased Bekah and Daniel, and they kept saying how gorgeous the drive was up the mountain, and how beautiful the view was from the top. We couldn’t argue with that because the view is absolutely amazing.
As we were hiking up, there was a field of yellow wildflowers. Bekah mentioned how much she loved wildflowers, so we took a small detour into the field and got some sweet engagement photos with the flowers.
Bekah and Daniel are getting married this fall at The Farm in Rome, Georgia. We are counting down the days to their wedding, and can’t wait to visit this gorgeous venue nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
Max Patch, North Carolina
Max Patch is located high atop the Pisgah National Forest near Hot Springs, North Carolina. With panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and Balsam Mountains, it is on the Tennessee and North Carolina state border. In the 1800s, the mountain was cleared and used as pasture, so it’s a popular location for camping and hiking. On any given night, there are multiple people camping with tents and you can see the roaring flames of small campfires. There is a small parking lot at the base of the bald, with a 20-30 minute hike to the top.
