Old Knox County Courthouse Wedding

Natalie and Brad’s Old Knox County Courthouse wedding and celebration with their immediate families is exactly what they wanted – simple and stress free, intimate, memorable and intentional.

When Natalie reached out to us about capturing their elopement, she said “Due to Brad and I having done the big flashy wedding events in the past, we wanted to have a very small, very intimate ceremony with just us and our immediate families involved. But, I believe that just because this is our second try, we should not limit ourselves to not celebrating one another and capturing such a special day and a new beginning.”

We met this sweet couple on a Friday afternoon in January. Instead of getting married in the Old Knox County Courthouse, they got married next door at the City County Building in a chancery court room. Knox County Commission chairman Hugh Nystrom officiated the wedding. He is a long-time friend of Natalie’s family. Natalie used to babysit for the Nystroms, so Hugh was so excited to officiate their wedding!

After their elopement, we walked next door to the Old Knox County Courthouse for photos with their families. The area around the historic courthouse has many beautiful locations, including the covered front porch with a back and white tile floor. Then, we walked around downtown for more bride and groom photos and ended in Market Square where they met their families for dinner.

It was exactly what they wanted, and it was the perfect day for them to start their new beginning together!
