Spence Cabin Wedding in the Smokies
Today, we’re sharing one of the most unique, intimate, and romantic Spence Cabin weddings in the Smokies – Jaime and Hobie. Jamie’s family owns The Happy Campers Nashville and they are event planners and designers. But the aren’t your average run-of-the-mill wedding coordinators. Oh no, this family knows how to make each event personalized and customized to each couple, and that’s exactly what they did for their daughter and her husband in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
From the moment we walked into the Appalachian Clubhouse and saw the horseshoe dining table with black plates, mustard velvet chairs for the newlyweds, and Melissa Timm Designs greenery hanging from the ceiling, our jaws dropped to the floor.
Then, we entered the bride’s room at Spence Cabin to find our friends Jamie and Wendy with Bangs & Blush, and Jaime’s hair and makeup were absolutely stunning. But it doesn’t end there! Her black diamond engagement ring an wedding band, black velvet bridal boots, and her one of a kind “Til Death Do Us Part” jacket added the perfect touches of the bride’s personality to her special day. And she had a bridal cape! Yes, the most amazing and gorgeous flowy cape that danced behind her as she walked.
These two met in Nashville on the first day that Hobie moved to the Music City. He walked into the bar where Jaime was working. He saw her the moment he walked in, and he sat down right in front of her. Little did she know that day that she was meeting her future husband. Then, Hobie started working with her, they fell in love, and the rest is history!

Spence Cabin
Two of our favorite venues in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are Spence Cabin and the Appalachian Clubhouse. Spence Cabin is perfect for wedding ceremonies and is on the bank of the Little River. The Appalachian Clubhouse is great for receptions. With a quick 2-minute drive between the cabin and the clubhouse, many couples choose to reserve both venues for their wedding day. You can reserve them online at the following links: Spence Cabin, and Appalachian Clubhouse. Located in the Elkmont Historic District of the national park, the cabin was built in 1928 and the clubhouse was built in 1934.
