The Governor Thomas Bennett House Wedding
We’re thrilled to share this Charleston wedding at the Governor Thomas Bennett House with you today! Elizabeth and Felix got married on May 19 at St. Patrick’s Church in Charleston, and their wedding reception was at the stunning and picturesque Governor Thomas Bennett House.
Get ready to feast your eyes on one of the dreamiest outdoor receptions ever. With the beauty of Charleston as a backdrop and the romantic glow of hanging vintage lightbulbs over the head table, this al fresco reception is what Charleston wedding dreams are made of!
Elizabeth’s totally stunning bridal beauty look was by Paper Dolls. Throughout the day, she twirled in her elegant wedding gown with a deep V romantic neckline while Felix was dapper in his navy suit with black lapels! Her bridesmaids wore sky blue flowy gowns, and the bouquets by Branch Studio Design perfectly complimented this wedding party with the ancient oak trees and Spanish moss of Charleston. Add all that up, and these spring wedding details gave a layer of undeniable romance in this historic city.
Not only was their destination wedding a celebration of their love and marriage, but Felix also received news that afternoon (while Elizabeth was getting her hair & makeup done) that he was accepted into medical school. This duo couldn’t have been happier, and the pictures prove it!
Before their Catholic mass ceremony at St. Patrick’s, Elizabeth and her father had an emotional first look. Then, we went to the top floor of the Governor Thomas Bennett House where she read a sweet letter from Felix. The Governor Thomas Bennett House is one of the most gorgeous historic homes in Charleston, full of southern charm and picturesque backdrops on each story inside the home as well as throughout the gardens outside.
After their wedding ceremony, the wedding party went to Chalmers Street downtown. The cobblestone street and pretty pink buildings of Charleston are the perfect backdrop for a spring wedding!
As the sun set on this dreamy day, Elizabeth and Felix danced in front of the glowing bulbs hanging over their head table while the live band played in the background. It couldn’t have been a more perfect ending to the most perfect Charleston wedding.
