Smoky Mountains Wedding at Spence Cabin
You’re in for a real treat today with this Smoky Mountain wedding at Spence Cabin! Cameron and Nick chose the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for their fall wedding because that is where they fell in love. They spent weeks together in the mountains researching salamanders as part of their college studies.
Cameron said, “In September 2011, Nick and I met and fell in love while doing scientific field work together in the Southern Appalachians. We spent a lot of time in the Smokies so it is a very special place for us.”
Their intimate wedding on the banks of the Little River included only their immediate families. Cameron had a tea length lace wedding gown and a paper flower bouquet. Her hair and makeup was by Brandalyn at Southern Belle Beauty, and Chaplain Fred Patterson was their officiant.
After their ceremony, they had a small reception with cake and champagne at Spence Cabin. On the back patio they celebrated with toasts and laughter that echoed throughout the forest surrounding the cabin.
After their reception, we hiked around Spence Cabin in Elkmont to areas including the freestanding rock chimney, rock bridge, fallen logs, and in the Little River. Cameron and Nick even took off their shoes and tip-toed across the river rocks! It was beautiful in October with the fall leaves trickling down from the trees.
