Haley & Michael

Mountainside BrideWinter Wedding Photos

Yesterday’s snowpocolypse in Knoxville was the perfect opportunity to seize the moment and take winter wedding photos! Not only was it unique to have 5 inches of snow dumped on Tennessee in one afternoon, but we also got to spend the afternoon with one of our favorite wedding bloggers, Haley from The Bride Link, and her husband, Michael!

We’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with Haley on a few shoots recently, including a Thanksgiving tablescape and winter inspiration shoots at Bluebird Christmas Tree Farm (tablescape, the “Our First Christmas” engagement photos, and the snowy night shoot). Haley is so great to work with behind the camera, and we were super excited when she and her hubby were up for winter wedding photos in front of the camera!

Featured on the Bride LinkOne important part of our business that Joe and I really believe in is making sure that we are in front of the camera at least once a year (usually our anniversary photos every April), because it’s such a great way to experience photo sessions from a client’s perspective. We’re behind the lens so often shooting brides, grooms, bridesmaids, mothers of the brides, families….everyone….that it is truly beneficial for us to be in our clients’ shoes too! To remind ourselves what it’s like having someone else photographing us, how important communication from the photographer to the client during the shoot can be, how hard it is for Kathleen not to blink or squint her eyes in every single photo (yes, that happens a LOT), the excitement we have to see our photos after the shoot (patience is so hard!), and print our photos to display in our home and give as gifts to our parents (because momma ALWAYS loves a nice framed photo to put on the mantle)!

So, needless to say, when Haley and Michael were up for venturing out into the snowy wintery Knoxville day, we were pumped! Not only was it a blast to shoot winter wedding photos in the snowy south, but it was an honor photographing someone else in the wedding industry who we respect and work with so often!

Enjoy Haley and Michael’s winter wedding photos!
