Smoky Mountain Engagement Photos at Greenbrier
Some of our favorite locations in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for weddings and engagement photos are ones that are the least visited and off the beaten path. Areas that are tucked away in the forest with few tourists and nothing but peace and quiet. At the top of our favorites list is the Greenbrier area, which is where we met Kristen and Chris for their engagement photos last month.
These two met while working together at the Apple store, and they are getting married this fall in Townsend at Dancing Bear Lodge. Since their wedding is outside of the national park in the foothills of the smokies, they wanted to take their engagement photos in the park on the banks of the Little Pigeon River, in the woods, and along the hiking trails.
The dense forest, river rocks, and woodland feel of Greenbrier was exactly what they were looking for! Kristen’s hair & makeup was by Southern Belle Beauty, and her beautiful locks bounced as she hopped across the river rocks. We can’t wait for their wedding this fall in Townsend!
Greenbrier
The Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is on northern side of the park, near Pittman Center. Minutes from Gatlinburg, it’s usually not very crowded with less traffic. There are three wedding locations in Greebrier: #1, #2, and the picnic pavilion. Approved wedding ceremony locations are on the banks of the Little Pigeon River, and there is an abundance of beautiful backdrops for wedding photos including the river, forest, wooden bridges, and large rocks in the river. Greenbrier is a more dense forest than that in Elkmont around Spence Cabin. If you like more of a dark and dramatic forest backdrop, Greenbrier is the perfect location!
