Boone Hall Plantation Wedding

We’re kicking off Memorial Day weekend with this Charleston destination wedding full of laughter, bridesmaids in neutral mismatched gowns, lots of greenery, and a picturesque gold palette that all Charleston wedding dreams are made of! Ali and Jeremy’s wedding was on May 6, 2017, on a gorgeous spring afternoon in the lowcountry.

This sweet couple had their first look on the lawn of the Avenue of Oaks, and it was a stunning backdrop with the limbs overhanging the lawn and Spanish moss swaying in the wind. Their romantic ceremony was on the Cotton Dock overlooking Horlbeck Creek, and their reception was inside the Cotton Dock. For the ceremony, Ali wore a tulle skirt and cathedral length veil for a picturesque bridal look, and it was stunning as she walked down the aisle.

It was a windy afternoon in Charleston, and the breeze was whipping the ceremony drapery on the Cotton Dock like sails on a ship! Ali and Jeremy wrote their own wedding vows, and they were both touching and full of laughter.

Not only did the ceremony include lots of smiles and laughs, but this duo is full of jokes and chuckles! Jeremy is truly hysterical on a daily basis, and Ali said, “don’t take anything he says seriously, because he’s always joking.” This was true for their entire wedding day, as Ali and Jeremy and their closest friends and family laughed almost the entire day!

Their wedding reception was inside the Cotton Dock, with gorgeous gold decor with greenery from Ooh! Events, Out of the Garden, Polished, and Duvall Catering. Jeremy is a pilot, so the table numbers were held up by cute gold airplanes, and Jeremy had an airplane shaped tie clip!

During the cocktail hour, all of the wedding guests went to the Avenue of Oaks for a group photo. We got a 12-foot ladder, Joe climbed up the ladder, and all the guests cheered as he took the group picture. What a fun photo that Ali and Jeremy will cherish!

At the end of the evening, Ali and Jeremy ran through a tunnel of sparklers as they left Boone Hall Plantation.
