Using Pinterest to Help Plan Your Wedding

Instead of tearing out pictures from bridal magazines, you can now use Pinterest to help plan your wedding. It’s an online pinboard where you can collect inspirations and categorize them on themed boards. So, when you’re on your favorite DIY wedding blog and you see an idea that you love, you can simply pin it to one of your wedding boards in Pinterest!

It’s a much more convenient form of bookmarking, but beware….Pinterest is addicting! It is very easy to spend hours upon hours browsing all the wedding loveliness, DIY wedding ideas, and everything else that you love!

Wedding Pinboards

You can create pinboards for anything you wish, from “bouquet ideas” to “wedding gowns” and “blue & yellow table centerpieces.” The options are endless, and you can create and store ideas to refer back to during your wedding planning.

Sharing Pins with Bridesmaids & Mom

One of the beauties of Pinterest is that instead of sending links to your bridesmaids every time you find a dress you think they might like, or a hairstyle that you want mom to see, you can pin them to your board and they can go to your Pinterest page to view all of your favorites! You can even share boards with your bridesmaids to give them ideas on what you are thinking.

Pinning DIY Wedding Projects

Pinterest is great for pinning (storing) DIY wedding ideas. We photographed a real DIY wedding last year where the bride used Pinterest to help her plan almost all of her wedding! Check out Ashley & Wally’s DIY Pinterest wedding.

But Pinterest isn’t just limited to wedding planning. You can create a “honey-do” pinboard for your soon-to-be hubby, or cute ideas for your bridal shower and engagement parties. The options are endless….

Because Pinterest enables you to create inboards for anything, it enables you to categorize and compartmentalize every aspect of your wedding such as  hair, makeup, shoes, invitations, etc. So, it really helps you organize everything quickly and easily.

You can take interest with you anywhere with its mobile app! This is perfect when you are shopping for wedding items and need inspiration, or want to make use you are staying consistent with your color palette.  Your entire wedding theme can be in the palm of your hand, instead of carrying around a heavy binder!
