Cades Cove Elopement at the Missionary Baptist Church

Many couples like Shayla and Ned choose to elope in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park because of the sweeping views and beautiful natural backdrops. Shayla and Ned got married in early March, but you couldn’t tell it was the end of winter with the warm sunshine and green foliage. Their wedding was at the Missionary Baptist Church, which is our favorite church for weddings in the cove because of the large windows and light interior.

Their wedding included only their parents as guests, so it was just as special and memorable as it was intimate.

After their wedding ceremony we went to the Wildlife Overlook, Abrams Falls trail, and Sparks Lane for photos with scenic views, water, forest, and trails. Cades Cove provides so many different backdrops for photos, you can’t go wrong!  You can stand in the middle of the cove and have 360-degree views of layers and layers of Appalachian Mountains all around you.

If you live in Knoxville, Maryville, East Tennessee, or you are traveling to Gatlinburg, Sevierville, or Pigeon Forge from out of state, then you know how gorgeous the national park is for photos. We have the permit required to photograph weddings in the park, and we visit the park dozens of times each year to photograph weddings.
