Spence Cabin Winter Wedding

Spence Cabin Winter Wedding

The one thing we’ve all learned over the past 12 months is to be flexible because anything can possibly change, right!? We’ve worked with dozens of couples to reschedule weddings and help change their plans due to unforeseen circumstances related to the pandemic, travel restrictions, and national park rules and restrictions.

When Elizabeth and Dane originally planned to get married in the Greenbrier area of the national park, we had no idea the park was planning to rebuild the Ramsey Prong bridge next to the Greenbrier ceremony site. As soon as we were notified of the construction scheduled in Greenbrier, we worked with Elizabeth and Dane to suggest alternative locations for their wedding.

The next best location was Spence Cabin in Elkmont. Similar to Greenbrier with a gushing river and dense forest, Elkmont was the perfect alternative! And so when their wedding day arrived in March, Elkmont did not let us down. It was just as beautiful as we had all hoped, and they had a romantic ceremony on the bank of the Little River. Their flexibility and understanding made their wedding day just as gorgeous (if not more) than their original plan.

Located in the Elkmont Historic District of the national park, Spence Cabin was built in 1928. Today, in it’s restored state, it’s a pink cabin with green shutters tucked away in the forest of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. One of our favorite venues in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is Spence Cabin in Elkmont. It’s perfect for intimate weddings and elopements, and it’s on the bank of the Little River. The Appalachian Clubhouse is great for receptions too, and it’s located in Elkmont as well. With a quick 2-minute drive between the cabin and the clubhouse, many couples choose to reserve both venues for their wedding day. You can reserve them online at the following links: Spence Cabin, and Appalachian Clubhouse.
