Spring is one of those beautiful seasons in Knoxville when everything becomes new again – the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the grass is vibrant green, and everyone is outside again after a dreary cold winter. It’s also a great time celebrate new beginnings, and that is exactly what Ashley, Russell and their two children did when they eloped on March 22 at the Old Knox County Courthouse.

Ashley said, “We just want it to be about the four of us making this commitment to each other, and be able to share that with our loved ones in a beautiful way. The time we spend together and the happiness of our children are what keeps us ticking.”

And so we met this sweet family of four at the courthouse for their wedding ceremony, and then we went outside for some sun-kissed spring photos. The bradford pear trees were in bloom, and Ashley and Russell were laughing and smiling together the entire time.

Downtown Knoxville is a very special place for Ashley and Russell, so the courthouse was naturally the perfect location for their elopement. Ashley said, “On January 21, 2018, we relived our first date in Market Square. We had dinner at the Oliver Royale, and began walking through Krutch Park to get to the theater for a movie. It was gorgeous and still twinkling with Christmas lights. Halfway through the park he stopped and asked me to marry him.”
