Greenbrier Elopement

Greenbrier Wedding Smoky Mountains

Greenbrier Elopement

Ashley and Ryan eloped in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in early March, and little did we know what was about to happen in the weeks (and months) after their wedding. It was one of the last weddings we photographed before the pandemic began and the national park closed.

The five of us stood on the bank of the Little Pigeon River watching the water gushing over rocks while they laughed (and cried) as they said their vows to each other. A park ranger even visited us for the ceremony to make sure our group size was under 10 people.

This sweet couple traveled to Gatlinburg from Florida for their destination wedding on March 10. It was still a little chilly and the leaves were just beginning to come out on the trees again.

  • Location – Greenbrier
  • Officiant – Chuck O’Connor, Sensational Ceremonies

We’ve talked to so many couples whose large weddings were cancelled due to Coronavirus, and they are now rescheduling for an intimate destination wedding or elopement in the Smokies.

If you love watching lightning bugs flicker in the trees, get excited by the smell of a campfire, love jumping in a cool mountain stream, and hopping across river rocks, we are here to help.

Greenbrier Weddings in the Smokies

The Greenbrier area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is on northern side of the park, and it is near Pittman Center just outside of Gatlinburg on the banks of the Little Pigeon River. It is generally not very crowded with less traffic. There are three wedding locations in Greebrier: #1, #2, and the picnic pavilion. The approved wedding ceremony locations are on the banks of the Little Pigeon River, and there is an abundance of beautiful backdrops for wedding photos including the river, forest, wooden bridges, and large rocks in the river.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Wedding Photographer

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a popular location for destination mountain weddings and elopements. With the mountains, rivers, and forests of East Tennessee, it’s easy to fall in love with the Smokies. A few of the most popular locations for weddings and elopements in the national park include Spence Cabin, Cades Cove, Greenbrier, and the Appalachian Clubhouse.

The National Park Service requires photographers to have an authorized permit to photograph in the park, and JoPhoto has the required permit to photograph your wedding, elopement, and engagement photos. Contact us for more information about our national park wedding packages.
