Rock Island State Park

Rock Island Waterfall Wedding Elopement

Waterfall Wedding at Rock Island State Park

Today, we’re taking you to the most epic, jaw-dropping waterfalls we’ve ever seen – Twin Falls at Rock Island State Park in middle Tennessee. A few weeks ago, we decided to visit 3 middle Tennessee waterfalls in 1 day – Ozone Falls, Lost Creek Falls & Cave, and Rock Island State Park. Twin Falls definitely did not disappoint, and when you see the photos below you will see why.

When we arrived at Rock Island, we traveled down Powerhouse Rd and parked at the overlook. We hiked down to the the falls, climbing across huge boulders that looked like little rocks in comparison to the huge waterfalls. Standing at the base of the falls was absolutely amazing, with the mist and wind coming from the water crashing down.

As the sun was setting, Twin Falls was the perfect ending to a beautiful day with Laura and Jesse exploring middle Tennessee waterfalls. Their adventurous spirits and love of nature made it so much fun that the day flew by so fast!

Rock Island State Park

Rock Island State Park is an 833-acre park in middle Tennessee, and it’s celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year. It became a state park in 1969 and it’s known for its scenic overlooks and cascading waterfalls. Twin Falls is an 80-foot cascading waterfall that flows from a cavern inside the mountain. It spills out and flows down the mountainside. The Rock Island area was used for a considerable number of exterior shots and stunts in the 1994 Sylvester Stallone move, The Specialist.
